I noticed this banana peel on one of the Managing Editors' workspaces in the Daily newsroom. She meant to throw it away after eating the stuff inside but (as those things go) forgot. I noticed that it's more brown on the bottom and that, when it was peeled, little strings came off too. Not the pasty white kind that stick to the fruit, but made of peel material. I didn't know bananas did this.
