Day Fifteen

This actually looked really pretty -- the branches were wet and there were berries that stood out, shiny and red, against them.  But I was walking, and my camera phone blurred the image.

Day Fourteen

I walk under this telephone pole every day and never noticed that this tree is attacking it.  And apparently nobody else has noticed either, because it's supposed to be dangerous for branches to be tangled in wire -- or so I thought.

Day Thirteen

I used to be slightly grossed out by staples on telephone poles like this, and I'm not sure why, but it doesn't bother me so much anymore to look at them.

Day Twelve

Here is Devin, again, because I like her bangs.

Day Eleven

I like this bag.  It's simple, but nice.

Day Ten

My friend Devin bruised herself while engaging in a bloody, epic battle with her classmates in the theatre school.

Day Nine

This is a beaded clutch that I own -- I like how it looks like rays of sunshine.

Day Eight

Today I walked by the cemetery on Observatory.  Its actually quite pretty -- big, old, surrounded by a wrought iron fence.

Day Seven

As a resident of Jordan hall, I am not supposed to own candles, but here we are.  The bluish daylight makes this candle look rather cold and dead -- much different than when it's lit.

Day Six

This is a 1950s copy of Gone With the Wind -- the pages have a lot of character.

Day Five

Today was sunny!  I liked the shadows made by these bikes in the snow, and the black bike racks seem very stark against the white backdrop.

Day Four

This is my rug.  When you lay down on it, which isn't very comfortable, the stripes look sort of weird and mesmerizing.

Day Three

Sitting in The Cappuccino Cafe, I noticed this snowdrift in the window.  You can't really tell because I don't own a quality digital camera, but the drift is composed of many thin layers -- sort of like the rings inside a tree -- to document each gust of wind that planted snow on the windowsill.  It reminds me of cotton candy.

Day Two

Note: This post is for yesterday.  I thought of it, took the picture, and then promptly forgot to add the entry online.

I use my computer a lot, so today I looked at the keys. They're a little bit concave, and the curves on the top and bottom edges catch light.  I think Mac keyboards are infinitely prettier than the ones on PCs...

Day One

I noticed this banana peel on one of the Managing Editors' workspaces in the Daily newsroom.  She meant to throw it away after eating the stuff inside but (as those things go) forgot.  I noticed that it's more brown on the bottom and that, when it was peeled, little strings came off too.  Not the pasty white kind that stick to the fruit, but made of peel material.  I didn't know bananas did this.
